Studium Generale Department of PSD FIP UNY Welcomes the Beginning of Even Semester Lectures for the 2021/2022 Academic Year

 

Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 07.30, the Department of Elementary School Education, Faculty of Education, Yogyakarta State University held a Studium Generale activity with the theme "The Substance of the Prototype Curriculum Responding to the Challenges of International SD/MI Teacher Standards" which was held online through the zoom meeting and live platforms. This activity was attended by all active students of S1, S2, and S3 Department of Elementary School Education, Faculty of Education, Yogyakarta State University. Dr. Margana, M. Hum., M.A. as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. After the opening ceremony, it was followed by the delivery of material by three resource persons guided by Amalia Rizki Ardiansyah, M.Pd as moderator.

The first resource person is Dr. Andi Prastowo, M.Pd I. (Lecturer of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta) who provided material on International Teacher Standards. He conveyed about the Dynamics of International Schools, Juridical Foundations of International Schools, Opportunities for Elementary School Teachers in International Schools and Elementary Teacher Standards in International Schools. Furthermore, the second resource person is Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah, M.Si (Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang) who delivered material on the Prototype Curriculum. In his presentation, he explained about the background of the prototype curriculum, the characteristics of the prototype curriculum, the advantages of the prototype curriculum, and so on regarding the prototype curriculum.

Then, the third resource person was Agung Rahmanto, M.Pd (Head of SD Muhamamdiyah Sapen Yogyakarta City) who delivered material on "Best Practice Schools for Prototype Curriculum". He explained about the forerunner of the prototype curriculum at SD Muhammadiyah Sapen starting from differentiation, strengthening the character and profile of Pancasila students, developing digital schools, and activity-based learning. At the end of his presentation, he also stated that “Educational institutions must be ready to change and accept change. The era of information technology demands very fast changes. The count of change is no longer minutes but seconds. The prototype curriculum is a curriculum solution that is ready to accommodate these changes.”

After all the speakers explained the material, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. This event was attended by more than 1,000 participants and received a good response from the participants through the impressions of the messages they wrote on the presence link provided by the committee.

From the three resource persons who filled the Studium Generale activities, they agreed that to deal with the current situation and conditions, it was necessary to have a curriculum that could provide solutions to situations and conditions like today, namely the existence of a prototype curriculum.
